Ramadan mubarak to you & Bilquees

always enlightening when I travel here... thank you.

Have you or Bilquees read the recently published bio about Mother Teresa? I haven't read it yet, but I am interested in her condition described therein, the so called dark night of soul biz. You've written about that state I believe haven't you? I will have to comb thru your material and find it before I try and read her bio...

Dear Kevin,

Wa 'alaykum as-Salaam and Ramadan Mubarak to you as well. I
appreciate your visits.

In answer to your question, neither Bilquees nor I have read the book to which you refer. Actually, recently I have been reading through the dark night of some other souls -- namely, the books by Sam Harris (The End of Faith), Richard Dawkins (The God Delusion), and Christopher Hitchens (God Is Not Great) ... the holy trinity of current atheist musings. If and when God permits, I plan to produce some commentary on their writings.

When I visited your site recently, I saw the pictures of the corn crop which was being grown in, I presume, your backyard. I had to laugh because Bilquees and I tried to grow some corn in our backyard a year, or so, ago, and although the corn was coming along quite well, God had assigned our corn to the rizq of some other creature -- a raccoon or skunk perhaps -- because night after night they kept coming back and devouring the small ears of corn until there was nothing left. Fortunately, they left the potatoes and string beans alone.

I hope all is going well with you and your family, and I hope that your Ramadan is filled with blessings.

Dear Safa,

As-Sallam-u-'alaykum!

Well, I am glad that the podcast finally came into being. Hopefully, God willing, there will be more in the future.

I pray that the blessings of Ramadan are being showered upon you and your family.

hmmm, well, yes, it seems that Allah assigned those same creatures that job at my house too, we didn't get a single ear out them either... My daughter warned me tho, I have to admit, she was ready to pick them but I said "no, lets wait a little bit"... ahh, the wisdom of youthful impatience...

The rest of the crop is another story, alhumdullah. We have collards & brussel sprouts coming out our ears...

I look forward to your writings about Hitchens, I have followed some of it, and your musings about that I am sure will be a worthy treat.

selam alaykum!
